BASPRO3 (Game Programming using C++)

Professor: Ms. Rizzel Jill Dy

Class Pong

Midterm Project

This is our Midterm Project in BASPRO3. This is also our project in APLIMAT. Loading the models, or the characters in the game Galaga. It's like the game is paused. Controlling the main ship from left to right is a bonus points. We are assigned to make this exact with the real game. Actually, ours doesn't look like exactly, and we have more works to improve this.

In this group seatwork, we were assigned to make a wire pyramid and cube. By pressing 'a' the object moves to the left, 'd' moves to the right, 'w' moves up, and 's' moves down. It also uses keyboard functions or arrow keys, 'UP' increases the size of the object and arrow key 'DOWN' decreases its size.

Final Project

This is our final project in BasPro3, with Jihan Mae Rodriguez, Andrezon Ferrer, and Oscar Tan. We presented it in front of the class, (Miss Rizzel Jill Dy, our professor). It involves the participation of the whole class, they rated our game as we presented it. The following are the criterias in our presentation:

Concepts used in creating the project:
-Class
-Struct
-Loops
-Conditional Statements
-Vectors
-Math equations

Features:
-
Texture Mapping is a method for adding detail, surface texture (a bitmap or raster image), or color to a computer-generated graphic or 3D model.
-Linear Interpolation (lerp) is a method of curve fitting using linear polynomials.

Challenges in creating the game
-Enemy movement
-Enemy entrance movement
-Loading Obj files
-(Actually the whole creation is the challenge especially the entrance movement of the enemies and how can we apply math equations and concepts in order to move the enemies.)

DEMO: The last part. . .

APLIMAT (Applied Math in Games)

APLIMAT?
As in Applied Math in Games?!
Wooah, I love Math, but I wonder what it'll be like when applied in games. I hope. . .
Be with me as I explore the world of games with math.  ~ :D

Professor: Mr. Ernest "Sir Buboy"Ocson

Quest 2

In Quest 2, our tasks is to apply the different math formulas to output these kinds of graphs above. It's fun and amazing! I enjoyed doing this quest. At first, we might find it hard, but the codes are very simple and easy to understand.

Quest 3

Quest 4

Quest 5

Quest 6

In Quest 6, we made use of vector operations to move a cube.

Quest 7

This is more fun. In Quest 7, we made a wave, with the use of quads. By pressing '1', the wave will spin and pressing '2', the wave will rotate. Amazing~

Midterm Project

                    Midterm Project~
We loaded the models from the Blender the characters of the Galaga game. To make it exactly look like the game, but it's paused. The bonus is controlling the main ship from left to right. But we have more to improve on these for the final game that we're going to create.

Quest 8

Quest 9

Wave with Normals

Quest 10

Quest 11

This is also our quiz. 1. Make a 1-period sine graph along the 40X40 grid. Maybe majority didn't finished the quiz, so Sir Buboy made this our quest for the next meeting.

Oh no, quests are getting more difficult than before.

GALAGA MODELS

These are the models I made for our final project, Galaga game, with Oscar Tan, Josh Vidamo, & XJ Alonzo. Oscar asked me to recreate the models. As you can notice from our midterm project, the models don't quite look good or there's just something wrong when loaded in OpenGl. Once you learned the basics in Blender, you would be addicted. In just few hours, I finished making all the models.

GALAGA

Galaga is a fixed shooter arcade game developed and published by Namco in Japan and published by Midway in North  in North America in 1981. The objective of Galaga is to score as many points as possible by destroying insect-like enemies. The player controls a starfighter that can move left and right along the bottom of the playfield. Enemies swarm in groups in a formation near the top of the screen, and then begin flying down toward the player, firing bombs at the fighter. The game ends when the player's last fighter is lost, either by colliding with an enemy or one of its bullets, or by being captured. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galaga)

COMGRAP (Computer Graphics)

Professor: Mr. Xavier Basa

Tracing Exercise

This was our first exercise in ComGrap. Actually, I didn’t do well in this activity because I wasn’t able to cope with the discussion. But atleast, haha I tried my best to able to finish this.

T-shirt Designs

This was first T-Shirt Design Project. We are told to bring two portrait pictures, but I chose this one. The woman in the picture is
Moon Geun Young, my favorite Korean actress. I chose her because she has the characters that other actresses don’t have. She’s simple, humble, innocent, gorgeous, and generous.

My  second try out for T-Shirt Design.

And my final model for my T-shirt Design. I like the pose and that’s what make it easier to trace.

Ghosts' Exercise

MIDTERM PROJECT : Vector Cartoon

Photo Manipulation Exercise A

Photo Manipulation Exercise B

I edited myself with the two of my favorite K-Pop Idols. Just for fun. haha :D

CEREAL BOX DESIGNS

1. Fruity Galaxies
2. Choco Asteroids
FINAL PROJECT : MURAL DESIGNS

- Paws -n Claws (Pet grooming Shop)
-McBean (Coffee & Pastry Shop)

COLREND (Color Rendering)

Here's now the "MOST COLORFUL WORLD OF ARTS SUBJECT" that we had.

In this plate, we applied the different strokes in painting such as. . .

Midterm Project

Point the violin! Let's go! In this plate, we used the concept of POINTILLISM.

We used poster color in this plate.

With the concept of POP ART. We draw our own image, and apply the concept using acrylic paint medium.

MIX MEDIUM. In this plate, we use two mediums, which are water color and color pencil. The base medium is the water color and color pencil to add some details to my art.

FREHAND (FreeHand Drawing)

Fun. . . fun. . . fun. . . Seriously I had so much fun in this subject. All we did was drawing. Even I'm not that good in drawing, I tried so hard to be better. I'm thankful to our professor, Ms. Anna Bettina Petrasanta a.k.a. Ms. Eru, because she taught us well. She always gave us advise what should we change and improve in our plates. I love this subject <3 .  I love FREHAND. I love drawing.

Types of Shading

Objects Application

Portrait Application

This was my first try drawing a real face. Not that good, I think.

Midterm Project

1000 Sketches : Challenge ACCEPTED!

These are only some of my sketches, because I wasn't able to capture images of them all. In this sketch journal, as time passes by, my hand used to draw. I improved a lot in my drawing skills.

More Portraits of Real Faces

After practicing so hard, I was able to draw a more realistic face. I’ve drawn a lot of her portraits with different aspects, but this is the one that I got the exact drawing of her face. Having this result, I just realized that my first try was really bad. Haha. The more I like to learn how to draw a real face, the more I strive to draw and draw until I got this output. Truly, practice and practice is really powerful.

“I’ve drawn lots of Korean actresses, why I don’t I draw my face, right? “, that’s what I realized. Haha, actually, this is not perfect. I wasn’t able to copy the actual posture of the lips.

In this activity, we were grouped into three members. We scribbled and scribbled in a limited time. After that, within those scribbles, we are going to create a weapon based on a certain theme. And this is the output of our efforts. :D

1-Point Perspective

In this plate, we drew our room in a 1-point perspective. I found it hard in shading because we made it in school, and I can't imagine the dark and light parts of the room when light is on. Anyways, it's fun. And I love FreHand.

In this part, I was supposed to make a building in a 2-point perspective. But it came out as a 1-point perspective. So I repeat my work...

2-Point Perspective

And this is the revised 2-point perspective house. Though I repeat my first work, it's fun learning your mistakes and improving it to be the right one.

Background Design

We made our own ideas of our background design and it's our choice whether we make it in 1 or 2-point perspective.

Final Project Part 1

Creating 50 Silhouettes of game characters was Part 1 of our Final Project in FreHand Drawing. Thanks to my sources, I was able to complete this.

Final Project Part 2

The Part 2 of our Final Project in FreHand Drawing was designing our very own game character. A character which is a detailed one, full body, front and back view, face, and an action pose. I found a hard time making my own character because I really don’t play games and I didn’t any of them to be my reference. Later on, I thought of an idea of my character. Since I’m a K-Pop fan, why don’t I make a character out of them, right?! And this is my output. Hwang-Ro, a warrior from modern era.
